A self-guided hike along the Amalfi Coast from Amalfi to Sorrento, taking in Ravello, Praiano, Positano and the Sentiero degli Dei (Footpath of the Gods). Our new (2012) version allows you to walk the whole way without using a single bus or taxi - the only company that offers this!
ALONG THE SIREN COAST - Amalfi, Positano and Sorrento
Wild mountains - old fishing towns tumbling down to the water’s edge. Spectacular paths with views for miles. Bathing in little coves. This is a truly multigraded walk for the hardy strider and, courtesy of the peninsula bus-system, the recreational walker too. The route shows both faces of the peninsula – the craggy scenery of the eastern (Amalfi) end and the more accessible charms of the western tip. The 7-night (medium) version starts with 3 nights in Amalfi (including Ravello), then works along the coast via Positano and the western promontories (with a night in a stylish organic agriturismo), arriving in bustling Sorrento, overlooking the bay of Naples and Vesuvius. Stay extra nights in any of our hotels, and perhaps extend your stay with visits to Capri, Pompeii and Naples itself. Walked by On Foot staff: Simon and Mary
Options from 5 to 8+ nights are available – call us for ideas suitable for your walking ability. We recommend: 8 night (medium) - 3 nights Amalfi, 1 Praiano, 1 Positano, 2 S. Agata, 1 Sorrento |
