Walking holidays, tours and vacations in Bohemia, Czech Republic

Castles, rock labyrinths and fairytales

Bohemia, now the western half of the Czech Republic, is a little-known but scenically and historically rich area that allows the walker a glimpse of rural middle Europe in microcosm. The area we have chosen, locally known whimsically as the ‘Czech Paradise’, is a landscape of meadows, pine forests and rolling hills, interrupted by some extraordinary sandstone rock formations - labyrinths of rock towers through which the walker can wind. Some form the basis for majestic castles - Waldstejn, Frydstejn, Trosky, Kost, and more, all rich in history and all visitable.

Moravian wines, local herbal liqueur and of course beer, for which the republic is famed, will, we guarantee, undo all the good work of the walking day. After a stay in the fairytale town of Jicín, you end with a night in Prague.
